First produced in 1948, the Ford F-Series has been a byword for quality and dependability in light trucks. In celebration of this storied history, Ford will release a special edition of the Ford F-150. The Heritage Edition celebrates 75 years of light trucks by paying homage to the stylings of light trucks in the past. Offering a modern take on the two-tone color scheme on trucks in the 1970's and 80's, the Heritage Edition uses a classic A-B-A exterior paint pattern. The lower section of the truck, made of bumpers, lower door and lower body, is in the A color, the midsection uses the B color, and the roof and pillars are colored in the A shade. In addition to the retro paint scheme, the interior uses a slate grey color scheme and black accents to play off of this. A white "75 Years" logo is present on the windshield. The Heritage edition is available on the XLT trim of the F-150.

Of course, the reason that the F-Series has lasted so long is its quality, which is continued in the 2023 model year. Under the hood, Ford offers multiple engines: 290-hp 3.3-liter V-6; a 400-hp 5.0-liter V-8; a 325-hp twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6; a 400-hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6; and a 250-hp 3.0-liter diesel V-6. All models have a ten-speed automatic gearbox. Because of this variance, the base model can tow up to 8200 pounds, while the 400-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 can tow up to 14,000 pounds. The EPA estimates the F-150 with the turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 will earn up to 20 mpg city and 26 highway. The twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 is rated up to 18 mpg city and 24 highway. The hybrid version has estimates as high as 25 mpg city and 26 highway.

The F-150 is highly safe and comes with modern technology to ensure this. Key safety features include standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, with lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control available at higher trims. After all of this, it's easy to see why the F-Series has lasted 75 years.
