Few trucks are as capable in tough terrain as Ford’s F-150 Raptor. Trucks focused on off-roading have been around for years, but the Raptor is innovative in that it can tackle challenging land and do it quickly and with style. For 2021, Ford has really beefed up this truck’s capabilities to satisfy the most hardcore off-road enthusiasts.

The hardware is what separates true performance trucks from the pretenders, and Ford did not skimp on the parts at all. The Raptor offers massive 35 or 37-inch tires to easily tackle large rocks or bumps. To soak up the impact of the big leaps this truck is built to take, Ford has invested heavily in the suspension and shocks as well. 24-inch coil springs in the suspension, the longest in the Raptor’s class, ensure that axle position will maintain solid even as the terrain gets tougher. Additionally, FOX Live Valve shocks with position-sensitive damping ensure that as the land changes, the truck will be able to easily adapt and travel smoothly.

The heart of any car or truck is its engine, and the Raptor’s is particularly awe-inspiring for it’s incredible performance. The 3.5L EcoBoost V6 puts out a stunning 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. This is enough for the Raptor to comfortably overtake sports cars on normal roads, and the power can truly be felt off-road as well.

One of the F-150 Raptor’s most impressive points is how well it balances technology and comfort with all of these performance features. Even on the toughest roads, drivers will have full control of the vehicle thanks to the available 12-inch touchscreen. Bolstered leather seats ensure that the driver and passengers alike will be firmly held in place while chasing the everything from rocky roads to canyons. Additionally small convenient features such as 4 USB charging ports, Sync 4, and a 360-degree camera will be appreciated by everyone in the truck. Desert racing is a very specific niche, and no truck is quite up to the challenge like the Ford Raptor.
