With full-year total sales of 896,526 trucks for 2019, the Ford F-Series still stands as America's best-selling truck for the 43rd consecutive year. What's more, with sales totalling 2,310,494 cars and trucks, the Ford brand bagged its 10th successive year as the best-selling brand in the United States.

According to Ford Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Sales, and Service Mark LaNeve, "America's best-selling brand for the past ten years is on a roll." He also explained that the F-Series is celebrating 43 years as the country's favorite truck and 38 years as the overall favorite vehicle, with the Ford Transit reaching the top of the van podium once again as well.

Further accolades for the Ford brand include the fact that Ford Transit sales ticked up by 11.7 percent in 2019 with a total of 153,868 vehicles delivered, while the Transit Connect saw its sales grow by 30.3 percent with a total of 41,598 vehicles delivered, making Ford America's best-selling commercial van brand for four straight decades … plus one year.

The Transit, Transit Connect, and F-Series joined the Ranger in having a fantastic year illustrated in some truly phenomenal numbers. The returning midsize pickup truck saw a full-year sales totaling of 89,571 trucks, which increased the overall total of Ford pickup sales to 986,097 for the year — making it the highest tally since 2005! Altogether, Ford truck and van sales reached a total of 1,243,136 in 2019, up 9.1 percent from just 2 years ago.

But what makes the F-Series such a standout? Ford’s ability to keep up with new platforms, frames, suspension systems, technical innovations, and new engines with each new generation has helped it evolve with the times. Splitting the F-Series into two truck platforms, the F-150 and the Super Duty F-250 and F-350 heavy-duty pickups has allowed Ford to provide highly specific capabilities for each platform, entirely customizable for individual jobs. This makes Ford a brand that caters to customers and listens to their needs.

Take for example the 2020 F-Series Super Duty which packs a mean punch when paired with the new 7.3-liter gasoline V-8 earning 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Want to get really crazy? The 6.7-liter diesel V8’s can tow a whopping 37,000 pounds — more than both the Ram Heavy Duty or the Chevrolet Silverado HD/GMC Sierra HD twins.

It’s safe to say, the Ford F-Series is going strong and is not likely to be displaced from number one any time soon.
