Ford Performance is excited to honor and pay homage to their champion Ford GT40 Mark IV racecar. Driven by the all-American team of Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt, the team rose victorious in the Le Mans race of ’67. Now Ford Performance is announcing the 2018 Ford GT Heritage edition in honor of the ’67 model.
The global director Ford Performance, Dave Pericak, comments: “In creating a worthy successor to our 2017 Heritage edition, we logically looked at our next historic Le Mans victory with the all-American team of Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. The 2018 Ford GT ‘GT Heritage edition pays homage to win, with a modern take on one of the most important vehicles in Ford’s storied history of racing.”
The available limited-edition Heritage theme will make the already stunning 2018 Ford GT glisten next to other cars. Part of the Heritage theme is the sleek and unique interior and exterior color themes, along with an exclusive wheel finish. Painted with a glossy Race Red and white stripes, partnered with the carbon package, the exterior is sure to fuel your inner race enthusiast. The doors and hood feature a Frozen White No. 1 graphic. The one-piece forged 20-inch aluminum wheels are coated in a silver satin clearcoat finish and are secured on with sharp black lug nuts. Red calipers, matching the body color, and silver review mirror caps complete the racing aesthetic of the car.

Hopping inside the car is just as exciting as looking over the outside. Take a seat in leather-trimmed, carbon fiber seats that are sewn together with a beautiful red thread, then pull the seatbelt around as you admire the newly fashioned red webbing. Buckle in, grab the leather-wrapped steering wheel with its flawless red stitching, and zip around tight corners changing gears with the paddle shifters. Located on the steering wheel, the paddle shifters are now made of a sharp anodized gray.

Ford is just as excited about the new Heritage edition as you are. Garen Nicoghosian, exterior design manager for this car, admits, “Continuing with a 2018 Ford GT based on the winning GT 40 Mark IV race car was simply something we needed to do.” Check out the new Ford GT ’67 Heritage edition at FordGT.com, and use the configuration tool to scope through every inch of the incredible performance vehicle.
