Running from June 23-26, Ford and the I LOVE NEW YORK campaign launched a summer kickoff party titled “Escape NYC.” As an effort to grow the state’s tourism industry put forth by Governor Andrew Cuomo, Ford, and the I LOVE NEW YORK campaign encouraged tourists and New Yorkers alike to explore many of the state’s top tourist destinations.
“We are excited to collaborate with Ford and feature exciting destinations and attractions found across the state’s 11 vacation regions,” Empire State Development president, CEO, and Commissioner Howard Zemsky said. “Through the interactive Escape the Room event and Summer Escape Travel Guides, we are encouraging participants to experience the rich culture, history, arts, and beautiful outdoors the Empire State has to offer.
Ginger Kasanic, Ford’s experimental marketing manager, echoed similar sentiments. “Ford is thrilled to collaborate with I LOVE NEW YORK and game creator Victor Blake for the first ever drivable Escape the Room experience,” Kasanic said. “Ford knows the experience will inspire consumers, especially millennials, to find their own adventure, and we want to help them get there.”
The players in the game used the Ford Escape’s technologies to escape from five different rooms in the Skylight at Moynihan Station.
