The Ford Taurus

When searching the market for a luxury sedan, you want a ride designed to respect your comfort and respond to your needs. A ride designed to heighten your senses and evoke a sense of mystery. Said to be the brand's flagship sedan, the Ford Taurus is both classic and versatile. Entering its seventh year of production, the Ford Taurus is still as lean and radical in design as it was from the start.

Low in profile, yet sculpted to be powerful, the Ford Taurus is ready to hit the road. Rolling in on 20-inch wheels and measuring 203 inches in length, the bold grille defines the front end of the sedan. The Taurus is complimented by LED lamps specifically constructed to communicate motion, and dynamic lines draw attention to the unique spoiler in the rear. Step inside the cabin to witness a combination of style and comfort refined in craftsmanship. Soft to the touch high-quality materials can be found throughout the cabin. Cloth upholstery is standard but can be upgraded. Exclusive to the model are front multicontour seats with Active Motion. Designed to help reduce driver muscle fatigue by changing the contour of the seat back and seat bottom, the feature works with seven seat bottom and lumbar air cushions. And for that sense of quiet comfort, the Taurus features insulation in the engine compartment to isolate engine noise, both internal and external. Just one more way every inch of the Ford Taurus is sophisticated by design.

The Taurus is available in four trims this season: SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO. Standard features on the base model include: integrated blind-spot mirrors, LED taillights, remote keyless entry, an exterior access keypad, cruise control, six-way power front seats with manual recline and lumbar, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks, and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player. Looking for more technology features? Take a peek at the Limited trim offering the Driver Assist package. Seeking something a little sportier? Why not test drive the SHO trim that includes a powerful turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, unique leather upholstery, and interior trim.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the SE Taurus. Producing 288 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque, a six-speed automatic transmission is paired. The little sedan coasts in at an average 23 combined mpg, not bad for its market segment. An EcoBoost version of this engine is available for upgrade. Looking for a little more petal to the metal? Upgrade to the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, available with front-wheel drive. Go turbocharged to receive 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Speaking of performance, all Taurus models come standard with all new Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control for maximum stability control. Adding a bit of confidence to get you around all of life's curves.

Standard safety features for all Ford Taurus models include: anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side-curtain airbags, and a rearview camera. Also included is Ford's MyKey. For extra protection, upgrade for a lane-departure warning system, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, and automated parallel parking. In government crash tests, the Taurus earned five out of five stars. The IIHS gave the Taurus the highest rating of "Good" in crash tests.

Classic in style and known for indulgence, the Ford Taurus is designed to convey motion from every angle. Engineered to please and designed to turn heads, from fit to finish the Ford Taurus is taking luxury to a whole new level.
