Ford is taking vehicle connectivity to an exciting new level with the introduction of its AI powered assistant. Now rolling out across the Ford and Lincoln mobile apps, the assistant is designed to make vehicle ownership easier and more personalized.

First announced in January 2026, the AI assistant began its initial rollout during the first half of the year. Ford is now expanding availability across multiple vehicle lines, including the F-150, Bronco, Explorer, Mustang Mach-E and several Lincoln models. Eligible vehicles include select 2021 and newer models equipped with an activated modem and the appropriate mobile app.

What makes this technology particularly impressive is its ability to provide information tailored to each customer’s specific vehicle. Since the app is already connected to the owner’s vehicle, there is no need to enter the model year, trim, or equipped details. Simply type a question or upload an image, and the assistant can deliver personalized guidance.

Whether you’re learning how to use BluCruise hands-free highway driving, exploring your truck’s features or determining whether a new piece of furniture will fit inside your SUV, the assistant is designed to help. It can also provide step-by-step troubleshooting instructions for common problems, making everyday vehicle ownership more convenient.

Beyond answering questions, Ford’s new AI assistant connects to real-time vehicle information. Owners can check tire pressure, monitor oil life, review fuel or battery-charge levels, and better understand dashboard warning lights. This integration combines information traditionally found in the owner’s manual with current vehicle data, providing an accessible resource whenever questions arise.

Accessing the assistant is simple. Eligible customers will see a blue oval and spark icon in the upper-right corner of their vehicle’s home screen within the app. Ford is introducing the feature gradually and collecting customer feedback to refine its responses.

To make things even more exciting, the automaker also plans to integrate its AI assistant directly into select Ford and Lincoln vehicles by 2027. Meanwhile, vehicles equipped with Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience are receiving Google Gemini as an optional alternative to Google Assistant, expanding conversational voice capabilities.

With personalized assistance, real-time vehicle insights and future in-vehicle integration, Ford is creating a more connected ownership experience. The new AI Assistant represents another innovative step toward making automotive technology more intuitive, practical and accessible to everyday drivers.
