Ford cars have had a long and storied history as dependable work vehicles. Their motto, Built Ford Tough, is a byword for quality and workmanship for all consumers. This toughness is especially evident in their off-road vehicles. Cars like the original Ford Bronco and Explorer built a reputation that Fords can handle whatever life throws at them, on the pavement and off. This is why the American manufacturer announced today that their compact truck, the Ford Maverick, would be available in 2023 with the Tremor off-road package. This off-road package is available on XLT and Lariat trims of the Maverick. Available with a 2.0 L EcoBoost engine, the Ford Maverick Tremor is designed to excel in varied environments.

One major part of this is Ford's FX4 Off-Road Package. This includes a new all-wheel drive system, as well as a twin-clutch rear-drive unit with a differential lock feature to allow greater off-road capability. Through this system, the car can divert almost all torque in the rear axle to either wheel. Additionally, the Maverick's five driving modes, pavement, mud, sand or snow, and towing, allows the driver to tailor the car's response to any issue. Ford's Trail Control feature also helps with this. This mode is similar to cruise control, but for off-roading. Simply, the driver sets a speed, and the car will handle braking and throttle to deal with obstacles and keep the car moving at the right pace, no matter the conditions.

Other off-road additions include front and rear shock absorbing springs, improved half-shafts and a one inch increase in ride height. All of these features help the Maverick maintain a comfortable suspension in even the roughest of conditions. To support drivers' outdoor lifestyle, the truck has a towing capability of 2000 pounds, perfect for camping gear, trailers, and dirt bikes. Overall, the Ford Maverick Tremor is a great pick for drivers looking for a truck that lets them go wherever they want, with whatever they want.
