Tougher, smarter, and more versatile–the new 2022 Ford Ranger has it all. The American car manufacturer created the next-generation Ranger as a response to its conversations with truck owners and drivers all around the world. The result: a refined Ford truck that can be the perfect companion in every setting, from a reliable workhorse and family-friendly carrier to an adventure truck that’s aggressive and adept across all terrains.

A Modern Look For 2022

The next-gen Ranger may be a midsize pickup truck but it remains muscular and athletic. Its bold exterior exudes Ford’s unmistakable truck DNA on a whole new level. Now standing 50mm longer at the wheelbase and 50mm wider at the wheel tracks, the 2022 Ford ranger features new fenders and larger wheel arches for a more agile and dramatic look. With more room between the wheel arches, the Ranger can even accommodate a full-sized 'Euro' pallet flat in its cargo bed.

C-Clamp-shaped headlamps flank a bold grille while its rear boasts an embossed tailgate and LED tail lamps. Ford also integrated a load step behind the rear tires for easier access to cargo. Not to mention, you will surely be impressed by the tailgate that also doubles as a functional work surface.

Featuring a new Splash appearance package and a Splash Limited Edition, striking colors of the 90s make a return to the 2022 Ranger. The Splash package boasts orange and black body-side graphics, an orange grille trim, and gloss-black exterior accents. Customers will enjoy anticipating the Splash Limited Edition, with different colors to be released each month.

Inside, the next-gen Ranger’s coast-to-coast dash is defined by clean lines to enhance the sense of cabin width. Soft-touch elements and a portrait-style integrated LCD center touchscreen add dashes of innovation. The screen displays the driving mode controls, and is connected to a 360-degree camera to assist in everything from parking to tough terrain driving.

Buyers can choose among three trims: XL, XLT, and Lariat. It also comes in an extended cab with a 6-foot bed (SuperCab) or a crew cab with a 5-foot bed (SuperCrew) model.

Versatility and Capability Rule the Ranger

The 2022 Ford Ranger promises top performance in every landscape and situation. It is fitted with dynamic and efficient drivetrains paired with the best technology, and is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. Ranger-lovers can choose between the standard six-speed automatic or opt for the more efficient 10-speed automatic gearbox for quick and smooth shifting.

Customers can have the Ranger enhanced with a Terrain Management System for optimum performance–the first time it has been made available outside of the Ranger Raptor. It also offers a friendlier driving experience with four drive modes to choose from: Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.

On its exterior, purposeful changes are made to help the Ranger accommodate even the toughest of drives. By mounting the shocks outboard and moving the front wheels forward by 50mm, Ford made the Ranger take on off-road driving smoother and more stable. An optional towing package equips the 2022 Ranger with a towing capacity of up to 7500 pounds.

Next-Gen Level Technology All Around

Ford’s latest SYNC4 system is the highlight of the 2022 Ranger’s onboard ultra-hi-tech setup. This cloud-connected in-vehicle communication and entertainment system features wireless smartphone integration, a configurable digital instrument cluster (another first from Ford), and on-the-go linking to FordPass.

With FordPass, owners can enjoy a variety of next-gen level functions like over-the-air software updates, remote start, vehicle status checks, and remote lock and unlock functions via a mobile device.

The new Ranger’s entertainment system boasts of a four-speaker AM/FM audio system, a single USB port, and a Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect up to 10 devices.
