Arguably America’s most iconic car brand, Ford has been renowned for making top-quality cars, SUVs, and trucks for over a century. The brand is known as one of the most innovative in the truck market, and regularly releases outstanding models to satisfy even the most demanding drivers. For 2022, Ford has received prestigious awards recognizing two of its finest trucks: the Maverick and the Ranger.
The Ford Maverick is the smallest truck in the brand’s lineup, and won the 2022 North American Truck of the Year Award. It has been recognized for a number of reasons, especially efficiency. In a segment full of gas guzzlers and huge engines, the Maverick can achieve a mind-blowing 42 mpg in the city with its hybrid engine. The fact that a pickup truck can realize an mpg number usually reserved for small economy cars shows how far Ford has come with its pickup trucks. Additionally, its compact size makes it easy to maneuver, and ideal for buyers who desire more utility than a sedan or crossover but don’t want a large and imposing vehicle.
Apart from the Maverick, Ford’s Bronco SUV has also been recognized for excellence, receiving the 2022 North American Utility of the Year Award. It serves as the flagship model for Ford’s 4x4 Built Wild line, and has impressed drivers with its solid off-road capability, superior build quality, and Ford heritage-inspired style. It has won a number of other awards as well, including Top Gear’s 2021 American Car of the Year, SEMA’s 2021 4x4 of the Year, and Forbes’s 2022 Wheels of the Year. Clearly, through designing a superior 4x4, Ford has put off-roading back on the map and inspired a generation of new drivers to take the trails, snow, or desert.
The SUV and pickup truck market is quite saturated, and buyers may have a hard time sifting through all the options to decide what is best for them. However, with Ford’s laundry list of awards for the Bronco and Maverick, drivers can rest assured knowing these cars won’t disappoint.
