With Ford being one of America’s top and most iconic car companies, and certainly a leader in the pickup truck space, it is no surprise that for 2021, they have built the nation’s first and only purpose-built police pickup truck. This truck is full of convenience features optimized to provide the most seamless experience for police. Law enforcement agencies previously loved Ford’s 2017-built Police Responder towing trim, but needed more confidence in speed and handling. Rising to the challenge, Ford added several features to their truck to meet the demand.

These features include a 120 mile per hour top speed, as well as automatic four wheel drive mode to deal with tricky terrain. Law enforcement often have to handle dangerous situations outside of regular roads, and this truck ensures that no matter where they find themselves, police can be confident that their vehicle has their back. Another useful part of the truck is the fact that it is the roomiest vehicle purpose-built for police, and also the one with the most cargo and towing capabilities. Current police vehicles are functional, but can’t handle all terrain and heavy carrying loads. By introducing this police model, Ford has increased the capabilities of what police vehicles can do.

Even outside of these features, the F-150 overall features a powerful drivetrain equipped to handle any task with ease. The 3.5 liter engine produces 400 hp, and 500 lb/ft of torque to ensure that no matter what situation a driver might find themselves in, they have the power to get out. All of this power is put down via Goodrich Enforcer tires, the premier choice for law enforcement agencies. These tires provide the perfect balance of aggressive driving stability, comfort, and durability for high heat and fast driving—ideal for the intended use of the F-150 Police Responder. By adding this new trim, Ford has shown that they continue to innovate and modify their vehicles for interesting new markets.
