

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has awarded the redesigned 2019 Ford Edge with the impressive Top Safety Pick for midsize SUVs. There are six aspects of the crashworthiness testing: Small overlap front of the driver-side, small overlap front of the passenger-side, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seats. The 2019 Ford Edge has passed every single one of them.
In addition to this already impressive track record, Edge also received a top IIHS rating in side-impact testing, roof impact crash testing, moderate overlap front impact testing, driver and passengers small overlap front-end collision testing, and a top rating for its head restraints and seats’ performance.
The redesigned 2019 Ford Edge is praised for its improved crashworthiness, available LED projector headlamps featuring curve-adaptive technology and front crash prevention features built after March 2019.
Ford Edge’s standard Ford Co-Pilot360 includes the powerful Pre-Collision Assist which features Automatic Emergency Braking. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has applauded this front crash prevention technology, saying that it has helped avoid collisions in both 12 and 25 mph tests. The Ford Co-Pilot360 offers smarter driver-assist features to maximize the driver’s confidence on the road.

The 2019 Ford Edge also comes with other available safety features including standard daytime running lights, standard blind spot detection, standard lane departure warning, and standard lane departure prevention. Both aspects of the front crash prevention regarding vehicle-to-vehicle received “Superior.”
