The 2017 Ford F-150 has accumulated a number of accolades, including Pickup Truck Best Buy, Best Full-Size Pickup, Best Full-Size Truck and more. In addition, the 2017 model received the government’s highest 5-star overall crash test rating as the safest F-150 ever.
The F-150 now offers cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage through the available Blind Spot Information System to keep drivers safe. The feature displays a signal in the outside mirror when a vehicle is detected in the driver’s blind spot, providing coverage for the truck as well as a trailer being towed. Cross-traffic alert also notifies the driver if there is a vehicle passing behind as they are backing out of a driveway or parking space.
The new model features increased strength along with safety, with a cab and box crafted from high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloys, while the fully boxed frame is made of up to 70 percent high-strength steel.
Despite the added strength of the vehicle, the F-150 is up to 700 pounds lighter than the previous model with a curb weight of 4,015 to 5,238 lbs. As a result, the vehicle boasts better fuel efficiency, greater towing and payload capacities, faster acceleration, and improved handling and braking responsiveness.

Acceleration and performance are improved from the previous six-speed automatic transmission maximum tow rating, thanks to the new 10-speed transmission features. In addition, the V6 engine beats out both gasoline- and diesel-powered competitors with best-in-class torque.
The F-150 is more environmentally friendly than ever with the 3.5 EcoBoost engine which delivers a 12,200-lb. Fuel efficiency is improved thanks to three overdrive gears and a wider ratio span which enables lower-numerical rear-axle ratios.
The price for the 2017 Ford F-150 starts at $27,110. Body styles for the new model include regular cab, super cab, and super crew cab.
