Ford and Motivate created a new network called Ford GoBike, in order to advance quality transportation in San Francisco.
Due to the fact that the percentage of people who ride their bicycles to work has recently doubled, it was time to develop a system that proved to be most convenient and helpful to the citizens of the Bay Area in San Francisco.
The idea is for this percentage to continue to grow. In such a large city, traffic is constant. This will hopefully reduce the traffic jams, making every day life a little less hectic.
There will eventually be 546 stations around the Bay Area, San Francisco, and San Jose. In total, there will be approximately 7,000 bikes as well. This provides stations at various points in each location, making this form of transportation readily available to any person that has the desire to pursue it.
Besides the new system’s extreme convenience, it also offers quality equipment. The bikes are very safe with their strong, aluminum frames. Not only are the bikes reliable, they are also quite comfortable. No matter the distance a person is biking, they are ensured however much of a relaxed and pleasant ride as they would like.
The bike has a wide gear range, making a more difficult ride an option. If the cyclist is determined to get a work out while traveling to a particular location, they are perfectly able to do so. However, if they would rather just glide along they can lower the gearshifts and enjoy the comfort of their means of transportation. The seat is fully padded and rain resistant. So even if there is precipitation, the bicycle will still provide the upmost of comfort for the cyclist during whatever sort of ride they decide to venture on.
