Ford is pushing the boundaries of the automobile industry in more ways than one with their newly revealed 2018 EcoSport SUV. The company unveiled the vehicle over Snapchat last month, making Ford the world’s first auto manufacturer to do so. Ford presents the SUV as a, “fun, capable, and connected” vehicle that is meant to serve as a both a tool and companion for the driver. The EcoSport is designed for individuals who value effective use of their time and sharing enjoyable experiences with others. It cuts down on unneeded features to lower not only the SUV’s size, but also its carbon footprint and its cost.

The EcoSport makes efficient use of space fitting either a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost® or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a high-resolution 8-inch floating touch screen with smartphone integration, 30 storage compartments, USB and 12-volt power outlets, and the Ford-exclusive B&O PLAY audio system into Ford’s smallest SUV. While the final dimensions have not been released, the original version measured in at 69.5 inches wide, 58.2 inches in length, and 64.3 inches tall. The updated 2018 EcoSport is likely to be similar in size to its predecessor. More concrete details regarding the final sizing and pricing numbers will become available as the SUV’s distant, early 2018,  release window approaches. As they wait for that day to come, however, enthusiasts will have to satisfy themselves by perusing and admiring the many photos of the EcoSport that Ford has shared on Snapchat and other social media platforms.
