Fifty years ago, Ford Motor Company introduced one of the most influential cars in history—the Shelby GT-H. In order to honor that history, Ford unveiled a special performance model of the legendary Mustang: the 2016 special edition Ford Shelby GT-H. Paying homage to its predecessor, the 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H or, “Rent-A-Racer,” as it was deemed in the 1960s, will be available through Hertz Adrenaline Collection at select airports around the United States. “Our goal was to give everyone a chance to add some fun to their travel with a distinctive American pony car,” said Doug White, Ford Performance Parts manager. “So Ford Performance and Shelby American sharpened the handling, improved the performance, sweetened the exhaust note, and added distinctive Hertz styling to the Mustang. Anyone who rents a limited-edition Ford Shelby GT-H will enjoy a very special driving experience.”
The 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H is everything a Mustang should be and more. Each and every 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H will be adorned with black exterior paint complete with gold racing stripes; a tradition that dates all the way back to the 1920s. The cars will also have a Hertz special edition emblem on the front fenders. This car not only walks the walk, but it can also talk the talk. Complete with the Ford Racing Handling Pack that includes special-tuned dampers, lowering springs, sway bars, and a staggered wheel kit, the Shelby GT-H comes with all the bells and whistles. Not to mention its 19-inch aluminum wheels offering one smooth ride. With only 140 models being produced, you’ll want to get behind the wheel of one of these bad boys as soon as possible.
