Ford’s Mustang is celebrating two global sales crowns on the nameplate’s 56th birthday, winning the deserving title of the world’s best-selling sports car. Ford has been constantly investing more into the Mustang’s performance, and the investment has certainly paid off. It is the Mustang’s fifth straight best-selling sports coupe title and while also maintaining a prestigious track record of being America’s best selling sports car for the last 50 years. 
According to IHS Markit’s most recent new vehicle registration data, Mustang has sold 102,090 units making it 2019’s best-selling sports car in the world. At the same time, Mustang sales nearly doubled in France, rose almost 50% in Poland, and increased by 33% in Germany. Fueled by its greatest-ever performance lineup, Ford is seeing it’s growth consistently increase internationally. The IHS Markit defines Sports coupes to include two-door and convertible models, qualifying Mustangs. Since the beginning of sixth-generation Mustang global exports from 2015 through December 2019, Ford’s Mustang sales worldwide hit 633,000 in 146 countries around the world, with 102,090 Mustangs in 2019 alone.  
Ford is honored to serve its enthusiasts and fans for the past 56 years and for many years to come. Jim Farley, Ford Motor Company’s chief operating officer, expressed his pride in Mustang’s stable growth and performance variants, reflecting that “from Sweden to Shanghai, more and more driving enthusiasts are enjoying the feeling of freedom and the American open road in these new Mustangs.” 
The Mustang’s momentum is kept up with the nameplate’s greatest-ever performance lineup, offering customers a new golden age. Up to 12 enthusiast models are available globally. These variants include EcoBoost, along with GT models that each come with two Performance pack options, Mustang BULLITT and Mustang Shelby GT350, and available Handling Pack, Shelby GT350R, and the plus Shelby GT500 with Carbon Fiber Track Pack as well as Handling Pack options.
