Ford Ranked Top 5 J.D. Power Brands

J.D. Power, an American-based global marketing information services company, ranked Ford among the top five automotive brands in the United States for the first time in its latest J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study. Now, in its 33rd year, the J.D. Power study measures vehicle quality by evaluating issues expressed by the owners in the first 90 days of purchase.

What can Ford’s accolade be attributed to? They’ve been making notable quality improvements that are dominating the industry. For instance, the revamped Ford Ranger--which began selling in January--was expertly revitalized at the Dearborn, Michigan Assembly Plant. This accomplishment marks the first time the midsize pickup has obtained an Initial Quality Study award since 2006.

“When it comes to quality, the all-new Ranger delivers on our Built Ford Tough promise to our customers,” says Linda Cash, Ford vice president, global quality. “To have Ford rank among the top five brands affirms our commitment to delivering the best cars, SUVs and trucks for our owners.”

With this in mind, Ford vehicles ranking highest in their segments are Ford Ranger for midsize pickups and Ford Fusion for midsize cars. In addition to the Ford Ranger and Ford Fusion ranking well in their segments, the Ford F-150 and Super Duty, as well as the Escape, Expedition and Flex ranked in the top three of their corresponding segments.
